Saturday is a Special Day

These pictures might not be too exciting for any of you but they bring complete joy to MY heart!!!! I've been nagging Jed for two years now to PLEASE clean out the garage. Well, today was the day he'd had enough of my nagging and did it! We can actually park two cars in here again. Of course I had to give up a day in the sun at Seven Peaks to "help" him---actually I think he would rather I had gone to the pool instead because I have a tendancy to throw things away while he seems to be a bit of a pack rat.......I can thank his dad for that one! His mom told me when we got married to throw things away in a garbage can far, far, far from the house because if he was anything like his dad he would look through the garbage to make sure I hadn't thrown away anything too valuable. Several of you already know the story of me throwing away an "empty" (at least I considered it empty) jar of peanut butter when we first got married and Jed digging it out of the garbage. I LOOOOVE that story!!!

Kenny Chesney Concert----finally!!!

So the big day finally came----the Kenny Chesney concert. It's been a full 24 hours since the concert and Sarah is still breathing heavy. I thought I was going to have to haul her out on a stretcher she was so exhausted from dancing and screaming for Kenny all night! I will say Kenny sure knows how to please a crowd. He played for a good two hours and when he opened the show he was on a platform out in the middle of the lawn seating (or ghetto seating according to us "true" fans). It really was a fun night---props to Jeanette for being a fan club member and getting us awesome seats! I took today off to recuperate----Sarah and I layed in the lazy river at Seven Peaks all day and reminisced about the concert. Don't worry Karmen---I got you a t-shirt so you won't feel totally left out!

Strawberry Days Rodeo

Gidee Up!!! Saturday night we went to the famous (ok, it's not really that famous) Pleasant Grove Rodeo. We went with about 40 of our closest friends. Jed likes to call them by herom--I prefer to call them my "posse". So anyway, we go every year. Lani and I usually try to limit ourselves to the strawberries and cream because we could easily eat 10 bowls between us!!! They are so grubbin!!! This year we invited a few couples from our ward also. The picture above is of our friend Lauren experiencing the strawberries and cream for the first time---she was a fan at the first bite! I also posted a picture of Nikki and Brendan (anyone who knows my dear friend and old roommate Nikki will not be shocked that she has a PINK cowboy hat). Can't wait til next year for more grubbin stawberries and cream!!!

Card Club

So I belong to a "card club". Now before you go off thinking I'm evil and belong to some gambling club let me explain. My old friend Jen (I mean we've been friends for a long time---Jen's not actually old) anyway....Jen started this club where we all make a card every month and we get together and exchange cards. There's 14 chics in our club so we go home with 14 different cards each month. I've taken a couple pictures of a few of my favorites from tonight. My sister-in-law Shay made my favorite one tonight---it's the black and white wedding card at the bottom. Let's be honest---if it wasn't for Shay I'd be kicked out of the club because she makes all my cards for me!! It's way fun and a super good excuse to get together with the girls every month. Chari hosted this month and made the best triffle (not "tri-fold" Jen) ever! Maybe I'll even post the recipe when I get it from her. As you can tell from the picture above....Lani takes card club VERY SERIOUSLY!!!!

Wild Women Luncheon

So my mom and a group of her friends like to get together once a month for lunch and they call it the "Wild Women's Lunch" (I think it's kind of like the ya-ya sisterhood but mormon style---at least I don't think they all sit around and drink and talk about sex). So anyway, my lovely mom was the host last week and she made this fruit basket. I was actually quite impressed so I though I'd share it will y'all to enjoy. It's amazing the things she's gotten herself into since she retired........no nursing home or blue hair for her.........just yet anyway. HA! HA!

Shoe Obsession???

Some of you might know that I have a small shoe obsession. (small being quite the understatement). Well, this week has been an exciting week for me........the Nordstrom Sale started on Wednesday and I bought 2 pairs of new shoes. Those of you who have known me for a long time know that my parents use to get quite upset with my shoe problem. So when I would buy a new pair of shoes I would throw away the boxes in a garbage far far from my house and if they happened to notice I had new shoes on I would usually lie and say I had them forever or that they were my friends shoes. Well, I'm sorry to say a whole lot hasn't changed since I got married!!!!! Well, Jed being the smart guy that he is though counted all my shoes when we got married so he would know how many I have. So now, I've learned that when I buy a new pair---I have to rotate an old pair out of the closet. So basically what I'm saying is Karmen ---be expecting 2 pairs of my old shoes any day in the mail!!!!

NEW YORK CITY

So I'm finally joining the "blogging club". I swear---I'll do anything to try to be popular! Anyway, I just got a new computer at work so hopefully I'll be able to be a regular blogger. I'm posting some pictures of my trip to New York in January. Basically those are the only pictures I have on disk at work right now so that's why I'm posting them. It was a fun trip! I went with Lani, Jen, and Chari. We ditched the husbands and headed to New York so we could see broadway shows and shop to our hearts content!!! Jen even brought an extra suitcase just for the purses she bought on Canal Street.
