Boating

This weekend we went boating with some of Jed's co-workers and had a blast! Cash was actually pretty good considering we were out on the lake for about 4 hours. He wasn't a fan of his life jacket that I made him wear most of the time (yes, I was a nervous wreck if he didn't have it on). He was happiest just driving his little truck all over the boat or driving the boat!

Here's my man taking a turn at wake-boarding....or at least attempting to. He got up for a good 3 seconds each time! I can't make fun of him too bad because I didn't even try---I was much more concerned with working on my tan. We had so much fun and it seriously makes me want a boat.

Born to Ride!

This kid is obsessed with wheels. He's such a boy. The minute he heads outside he goes straight to the first wheel he can see. When we were riding 4-wheelers the other day he wanted to ride along side the other 4-wheeler so he could watch the wheels go around and around. Tonight we took a walk over to grandma and grandpa's house and we stopped and Cody and Meridith's to say hi and he had to sit on Cody's bike. He didn't want anyone helping him either---he could sit there all by himself! He's quite a stubborn little guy like that---he totally gets that from his dad! This kid is happiest when he's riding on the lawnmower or 4-wheeler. I should start saving my money now because it's only a few years until he'll want a motorcycle. Jed's already been looking for helmets for him----although by the bruises on his head I'm thinking he should be wearing a helmet full time. My dad likes to call him Crash instead of Cash.

July

I'm such a loser---I haven't posted in over a month! To all my fans out there--please forgive me! This is going to be quite the catch up and catch all blog so I don't blame any of you if you can't make it to the end. I know it will be quite a lot for one reading and not to mention all the stunning picture of me and my hot husband and not to mention my little one.....if case you've forgotten over the past month---he is the cutest little boy ever born! This summer Cash has turned into quite the little water baby. Above is a fun picture right before we headed to the Lindon pool---which by the way if you have kids it's the best pool ever! Although it looks like I have Cash in a chokehold I really don't so please don't call DCFS on me.

Kami bought Kai a water table for his b-day and the boys could literally play in it all day every day! They love it! And yes, sometimes we just take off their clothes and let them play in their onesies---I believe it gives meaning to white trash and I think they're in training for "wife-beater" tank tops in the near future.

Wow--Cash is a little excited don't you think? And just look below---that little grin just melts my heart and gets him whatever he wants!!!

For the July 4th weekend Jed and I made a quite trip to wine country in California to do visit some wineries and do a little testing. Kidding! Only kidding! We actually went for a wedding of our good friends Candace and Justin. It was so much fun and such a great little get -away. We rented a little convertible Nissan 350 Z while we were there which I thought would be so fun ----until I realized my husband was maniac behind the wheel! He seriously thought it was in the Indy 500 every time he got on the road. By the time we got to the reception ---which was on the other side of a very windy mountain---I was so car sick I thought I would die not to mention so mad at Jed I couldn't even talk for the first hour of the reception! I recovered and we both had a great time. The reception was so fun. Let's face it ---non-mormon receptions are WAY better than LDS punch and cookie receptions. People actually stay and hang out and dance and have a good time. I even got Jed to bust a move with me---dancing that is!

Next up was a trip to St. George to see my nieces and nephew sealed to their mom and step-dad in the St. George temple. Priceless. I expected to have bittersweet feelings because they were being sealed to their step-dad and not my brother but I didn't. It just felt right. I'm just so grateful that their parents are teaching them what's right and heading them in the right direction. Those kids will never forget that experience or the feelings they had in the temple. There is no doubt in my mind we will all be an eternal family. (whoa--teary eyed---moving on to next subject.)

And last thing on my catching up in July blog .......girls trip to San Fransisco with Karmen and Sarah. I could pretty much sum it up in a few words....shopping, eating, laughing, sleeping. It's so crazy to think they've been my best friends for 18 years. We've been through thick and thin (literally!) together. It doesn't matter what phase or our lives or the fact that we all live far apart from eachother---we remain the 3 stooges. I know there is nothing I could tell either of these two that would make them turn their back on me and not be my friend. Not many people can say that about one friend and I have it in two friends. I'm a lucky girl.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay (got to love my employee discount!) We headed to Santa Cruz, Stanford, and San Fransisco. Above is a nice shot of Karmen and I at China Town. Below is a picture of us all at the hotel. We got plenty of shopping in---ok way too much actually. We had some great food and I got to sleep in every day---pretty much the highlight of my trip!!! We sat in the mineral spa at the hotel---we opted for the one where you had to wear clothes---I mean, come on--we're not THAT good of friends! We're already planning the next trip---but we might actually let the kids and husbands come this time....maybe!

New Hotel!!

As most of you know I've been a little busy the past couple months with my new job. Our company just opened a new Marriott SpringHill Suites in Provo and I get the fun job of being the General Manager. At least I'm hoping it will be fun eventually.....it's been pretty busy and challenging so far. Don't get me wrong---it's so fun to have everything nice and new and beautiful but working out all the kinks of having a new building is crazy. No major issues just dumb little things like the fact that if you hit the "room service" button on the telephone it dialed 911---minor issues I tell you. If you haven't seen the hotel yet feel free to drop by for a tour----it's awesome!!! It's very different and "fresh". People love it!---except older people which reminds me of a good story. So I was in a "closing construction" meeting the other day where I had to give a little presentation on how our guests have responded so far to the new hotel.... let me give you a little background on who was in the meeting---it was all the owners who are a little older (and one inparticular has a hard time that I'm a woman), the builders of the hotel and the owners of our management company. So I hand out my nice little report with the feedback and forgot that as I was typing the report I put as the very last line "the only guests who have not responded positively to the hotel are simply old foogies with old school taste!" Of course I'm laughing to myself as I type the last sentance. I then got distracted and forgot to take it off the report!!!!! Pretty embarassing as one of the owners reads the report out loud in the meeting!!!!! Yes, I'm glad I still have a job. I feel super lucky to have the best staff ever----I like to refer to them as the "dream team"!! I thought I'd share a couple pictures of the finished product. Of course I couldn't end this post without a few pictures of the cutest little man in my life. We have beads that hang in our lobby area and Cashy LOVES to grab them, pull on them, wind up in them----and he gives me a devilish little grin the whole time knowing he is doing something wrong!

Catching up!

So it's been a few weeks since I've updated so get ready for a long post! Hopefully you don't get too bored reading this. Easter was great this year---nothing says Easter like an Elmo Easter basket with bunny ears! The little yellow "duckie" inside is Cash's new favorite toy. He pretty much takes it everywhere with him and he likes to wear the bunny ears around his neck like a necklace.....yes, it makes Jed nervous. We had an Easter egg hunt in our back yard for Kylee, Kade and Carter.....a big thanks to Kami for coloring the eggs! Kami and I had a throw back to our childhood by writing on the eggs with white crayon before she colored them. We put $.25 or $.10 or "prize".....just like my grandma Oram use to do ....Jed said we were lame and that the kids would rather have candy......boy was he wrong......and boy was he surprised when I pulled out his change jar to pay up on the eggs!!!!

The next adventure was Cash going to Seattle with Kami and Meridith for 5 days!!!! I was a little hesitant at first but then agreed. Jed and I went to Park City for a couple of days which was awesome but by Sunday night I was happy, happy, happy that my baby was coming home!!! It's nice to have a break but even nicer to have Cashy back home. I love the picture of Cashy snuggling with my mom---so cute! That's pretty much the highlight of her life.....snuggling with grandkids. I also love the picture of Cash with the tissue blowing his nose......totally cracks me up every time he does it. Oh the simple pleasures of being a mom. A big thanks to Meridith for taking Cash on the plane.....although Kami finally admitted tonight that he was a stinker on the plane and to not be surprised if Meridith doesn't offer again.....ouch! HA! HA!---I don't blame her!

Nate and Quinn came to visit for a few days last week. Quinn of course had to go see the baby cows out at Grandpa Baadsgaards house---of course he really had twist Jed's arm to take him out there. They tell me that everytime Cash gets in the truck he jumps on grandpas lap and takes the wheel ---he's pretty sure he's driving that rig!.....now don't freak out and call child protective services---out in Spanish Fork it's totally legal for a 14 month old to drive a farm truck! Cash has started a new thing lately where he has a motor sound for everything. (I just realized I've turned into one of those annoying people who all they talk about it their kids on their blog---lame. oh well.)

At last but not least a few pictures that I almost didn't post....why you might ask....because my nanny (aka Kami) didn't match Cash's clothes very well this day----how embarassing! I pride myself on a matching kid! I mean seriously Kami---what kind of aunt, I mean nanny are you?????----grey shirt with blue sweatpants---yikes! Kami took the boys to the park the other day (I know you all wish you had a nanny like her) and they loved it, as you can tell from Kai's face....actually you can really tell from Cash's nice belly laugh he's got going on! I love that kid! Hopefully some day he'll have a nice cackle to go along with that belly laugh.

The end.

Gangster Cash

So it's no secret that Cash is a little runt.....I put these 12 month pants on him the other day and they so cute---but still to big but I let him wear them anyway. Well, about half way through the day he was watching Yo Gabba Gabba of course and his pants feel right down! I think it's pretty darn funny actually.......he's going for the gangsta' look! I'm happy to let you all know that I did figure out how to tighten them with those little elastic sinchers inside the pants---a big thank you to whoever invented those!!!!

Cash's Recent Activities

I've been super busy lately with the new hotel but thought I'd put a few pictures of Cash's latest activities. I don't know why but for some reason he sticks his toungue out whenever he's walking. Sometimes it's cute.....sometimes it looks like he's retarded.

Oh who doesn't enjoy a good smut magazine every now and then! Have I mentioned that Cash is a very advanced child...so advanced he can read upside down! Below is a fun picture of he and Kai pretending to be the Easter Bunny. I'm actually amazed we got a shot with the ears on his head---he kept ripping them off and giving me a look like "are you serious mom?" I love this kid! He keeps me entertained on a daily basis! He's a keeper for sure.

Happy Birthday Cash!!

It's hard to believe my little boy is one years old!!! It literally feels like just yesterday he was born. I can't believe how fast the year has gone by---I never knew I could feel such love for a little person. Cash is by far the best thing that has ever happend to Jed and I. (besides eachother of course!) Yesterday we celebrated with our family and Cash's self-appointed God-parents, with a bbq and of course cake and ice cream! We started out the day with Cash's favorite breakfast----cinamon raisin french toast. I love the pictures below of Cash in his little party hat. You can just tell by the look on his face that he thinks the hat is totally dumb and if he could talk I'm sure he'd tell me that.

I LOVE this picture of Aunt Marie holding Cash. It's proof to the world that she really is good with kids despite what she thinks. Cash has always loved her. Please take note of the ghetto candle on the cake.....yes, that's right---I forgot to get candles!!! I suck. oh well, he won't remember right?
Also take note of the huge cake that Aunt Kami bought him for himself! I sent her into Smith's while I waited in the car with the boys and told her to just get a large cupcake or a small little cake that he could dig into. She came out with this! Of course Cash didn't complain---he dug right in---no coaxing. Needless to say it was a fun day. Thanks to our family and friends who came and put up with the typical first parents first birthday party. Here's to many more years with our happy and fun little boy!!! p.s. he's not totally walking but taking a good 10 steps at a time!!! So fun!

Mother's have to sacrafice???

So I've always heard about mother's making sacrafices for their kids and I always knew my mom did it for me. You know----the whole mom's wearing ugly mom jeans so their kids can have the "cool" jeans. Or mom's wearing the same dress to church for years so their kids can have cute clothes. Well, this new "unspoken law" hit me full force this week!!! Now I fully realize this will probably make me sound like a spoiled brat or maybe that I don't love Cash and all but oh well...not ture. I'm just keeping it real. So here's the situation.....I got a little bonus at work this week and instantly running through my head I was thinking "what kind of food storage could I buy with this???---YEAH RIGHT! I instantly thought of this purse I've been wanting forever!!!! (it's pictured below---isn't it soooooo cute!) I mean, it's not totally selfish---it's actually a diaper bag also so I was of course was thinking about my little guy too! Anyway, then the sick realization hit me that Cash needed a new car seat! So yip, that's right---Cash is the proud owner of a new car seat---which I'll be honest---it makes me happy to see that he's so excited to be a big boy and facing forward so he can see so much more. I guess my heart grew two sizes that day. I guess the cute purse can wait and I'll just have to keep using the one purse I already have---oh wait, I like to collect purses like shoes---I think I might have more than one in the closet to use!

Superbowl Sunday

It was that time of year again....time for a superbowl party which quite honestly is just an excuse to get together with friends, make some grubbin food and send the guys downstairs while the girls stay upstairs and gossip. This year we had quite a few more kids in the mix so we of course sent them down to play in the basement! The above picture is to prove to Andy that Luke really does have a wife! Below is a picture of Sam---Carrie ditched him this weekend so he showed up with his three hungry boys and left with three tired and full boys!

Cash of course loves the attention from the ladies and was in heaven just snuggling with Auntie Missy on the coach. I couldn't believe how long he sat with her because he's such a busy body these days----and according to Missy he's a bully to the other kids. Below is a nice shot of the kids playing ---I love having a basement that I can banish them too!

So below is a series of shots from Cash's latest trick---he's figured out how to open the glass doors in the hutch and loves to climb in and "hide" in there. I use the term "hide" loosely since they are glass doors and all. The poor kid is such a clutz/daredevil that he has at least 5 bruises on his head at all times. My grandpa calls him Tuff Tumbleweed. I personally call him Bruiser. Good thing he's cute!
