Crappy Christmas....literally!

It all began the Tuesday before Christmas.........the flu struck the Baadsgaard house! I was the first man down...violent puking--like the kind when your 6 years old and your mom just can't understand why how you couldn't make it 2 more steps to the toilet----yip, there's nothing like having to clean up your own puke! By the next afternoon I was feeling better but then it hit Jed, my mom, my dad and Cash full force. At one point I had one person in each bathroom puking. We had to cancel all plans and pretty much just laid around looking at eachother. On the bright side...I didn't have to cook because eating was the last thing anyone wanted to do!

By Christmas morning everyone was to the point they could at least get out of bed........for a good 30 minutes anyway---just long enough to open gifts--say a mumbled thanks and head back to bed---or the bathroom. The picture of my dad below is PRICELESS! See, we have a running joke in my family that my dad never gets excited about any gift, he just says "oh thanks, that's really neat." About a year ago he came to visit and was telling me that he had seen the coolest thing in the skymall magazine.....a brownie pan that has little dividers in it so when the brownies are cooked they are all edges (I hope that makes sense) so I actually found it on Amazon and ordered it for him but the best part was he actually got excited----like for real excited when he opened it-----I can only imagine the level of excitement he would have had if he wasn't sick!

Here's a picture of Jed modeling his new sunglasses......I HATE buying for Jed---he's so hard to buy for and he usually returns everything I get him....in fact he just flew out to Austin today and his nice new pen I got him and sunglasses are sitting on the desk in the office.....which means...they'll be going back. Below is a picture of Cash modeling his jack-o-latern grin (I'm not sure how I got this shot) I just wish you could see the top of his mouth. One top tooth and fang are coming in---it's safe to say he's in an "akward" stage right now. Let me just tell you.....the flu + teething = very cranky baby and no sleep for mom. Well, my mom and Cash are barely feeling better and I have now stollen the title of "worst Christmas ever!" away from Maile. (inside family joke---but one of those "jokes" that's not really that funny)!

Funny that the blog just before this one was called I Love Christmas Time. Look on the bright side, at least there was a bathroom for everyone.

I am so sorry! I still can't believe I haven't seen you guys for so long. Tell your parents "hi" and hopefully we can hook up soon. Cameron is recovering from Croup so we've been hit a little with some sickness...nothing as bad as the flu though!
I love Cash's teeth! Cameron is in his awkward mouth stage as well. The tops of his gums are just a bunch of teeth and swollen white bumps. Ouch!

Stinks that your Christmas was crappy..but at least Cash won't remember it!
(Psstt...someone tell Carrie what "hook-up" means!)

What a freaking bummer! At least it will make for a funny memory, right?

That jack-o pic of Cash is priceless.

I hope you are felling better.

That pic of dad is priceless, I can't believe that he had that big of smile on his face....that never happens on Christmas...that definitely neutralizes the flu.

That totally bites! I need someone to tell me what "hook up" means too...in my day (I'm old) we never used weird terms like that...remember NICMO?

It's amazing how sickness can spread even 1200 miles away to Indiana! We have not had it to the extreme like you guys, but Michael has had the flu for the past 3 days! It just plain stinks! It definately will be a Christmas you won't forget...unfortunately! -Kim

The Kendrick family can relate for sure. We all went to Idaho and all ended up with a bug. It took its turn passing through everyone...it wasn't fun. Hope you still have a good Christmas!

I'm sorry you guys were all so sick. My parents keep hinting that they want that brownie pan from Sky mall. I hope you are all feeling better.

Nalani...I am so glad you liked that recipe...we had it again last night for as leftovers and it was still good, a little oily from all of the butter but yummy none the less! Yay!
