Farmer Jed!!

My childhood dream came true.....I married a farmer! Or was that a childhood nightmare? This weekend Jed's parents were out of town so we got the privelage of feeding cows! The first picture is of Jed loading the hay on the truck. After he laid it perfectly on the truck bed I told him that I was sickly nervous the whole time he was loading it that he would dump it on the ground.......he was hurt that I didn't have more faith in his "skills." So now I can say in confidence that "my man has the skills to pay the bills!" (he loves it when I talk like that) So anyway--the next picture is of him scooping the hay off the truck and into the field for the cows to eat. The picture below is of ME driving the truck in the field for him. My grandpa Bell would be proud. The last picture is the newest addition to the Baadsgaard family. He's our first calf born this year. Pretty cute huh. After we were all done Jed said "See honey--wasn't that fun!" and I said "yes, it was fun.....but if I HAD to do it every day....not so fun." Jed buys a few more cows every year in hopes that some day we'll have a heard like his dad and we'll HAVE to move to Spanish Fork. As you can tell.....I'm still dragging my feet and not convinced yet!

Happy Valentines To ME!!!

So Jed showed up at my work on the 13th with these beautiful roses---yes, it was a day early because he was leaving on the 14th for a business trip---either that or to be with his other wife on Valentines Day? Just kidding! So of course it made my day! My friend Amy always teases me because I always say Jed is DREEEEEAMY!! But he really is!! Don't worry---I wasn't totally outdone by him.....I got him some new snowmobiling gloves----aren't I sooooo romantic! I would tell you what else I got him but this is a 'G' rated blog! HA! HA!

HEY LADIES!!!!!

Since the cat no longer has my tongue.....I would like to announce that there is a newly single hot guy in Utah! To celebrate his freedom we had a little party last week. Shandy of course gave him the best gift which he is holding in the picture above.......a little black book! He told her there was just one problem......she hadn't put any phone numbers of her cute little employees in there yet. No need to worry though. ..... Shandy has quite the list of girls for him to date, starting with the "just for fun to get you back in the dating scene" all the way to the "more serious with real potentional". We all decided that there would be a few questions he will need to ask before he dates anyone that are definite deal breakers and that if answered "yes" he must run like hell....
1. Do you like cats?
2. Do you hate going to parties and hanging out with friends?
3. Do you hate hearing the same family stories like "remember when the dog ate the cheetos..." over and over again?
4. Do you hate trying new restaurants?

Snowmobiling in Island Park

Anyone who knows Jed knows that he LOVES to snowmobile. Every year he goes with his buddies for about 4 days up to Island Park to snowmobile. Well, this year was a very special year......the wives were allowed to come! Even though I felt quite honored and was excited to be able to go....I am fully aware that 99% of the reason I was invited was so I could cook for the boys.
The first day was a "boys only" day which was fine by me because it was freakin cold. In fact, it was so cold Jed got frostbite on his face. That's my hottie husband above----doesn't he look tough! The next day we were allowed to go for a few hours with the boys. Jed even took me in a few parts I found a little scary but he told me to buck up and that he was "teaching me to be a better rider" so that I could go more often with him. Uhm...thanks, I guess?! See even though we're sitting on the snowmobile together above I refuse to ride on the snowmobile with him. I like my own sled....cause I'm tough like that. Yeah right----I just hate trying to hang on while someone else is driving and not knowing what's ahead! So I guess I should probably take his "lessons" a little more seriously. (even though I like to think I'm already a good rider!) Here's a few pictures of the cabin we stayed in. It really was a fun and relaxing weekend.

Ace of Cakes

There is a show on the food network that I love called "Ace of Cakes" where they make all kinds of crazy cakes for people. Well, this week is my BFF Rylee's 4th birthday and of course she wanted a princes cake! So being inspired by the food network I decided I would give it a try! So Rylee's mom Amy (in picture above) came over on Saturday and we made the cake! Or I should say that Amy was ever so encouraging as she sat on the barstool as I made the cake!! Pretty much we had no clue what we were doing but I think it turned out ok. I decided I should probably master this art of making a barbie/princess cake now because with all the nieces we have and friends little girls I'm sure there were be many more cakes to be made in the future.

Party without the Baadsgaards

So as you can all tell my blogging as been a quite lame lately. I'm sorry---my life has been boring and I haven't really had that much to share. Today Jed and I went out to his family's for dinner and when we got home there were a bunch of cars in my driveway......uuuuuhhhhhmmmmm. Well, when I walked inside I found a football party going on without us!!! Now normally I'd be totally bugged that a party was going on without me but I hurried and grabbed my camera to take a picture so I would FINALLY have something to share on my blog!!!! My favorite guest was Dexter of course----no offense to the adults that were here. He's just so freakin cute!!!

Texas is Bigger and Better!!

So pretty much anyone who knows me knows that I've been best friends with Karmen and Sarah for the past 15 years. Since we all live in different states we try to all get together at least once a year. This year Sarah and I flew down to Texas to meet up with Karmen. I personally LOVE going to Texas because for one thing I get to see my godchildren (yes, I am the self-appointed godmother) and secondly because the shopping in Texas is BIGGER and BETTER!!!! So we started out Thursday morning --got a flat tire on the way to the airport---missed our flight---couldn't get another flight til later that night---and did I mention it was Sarah's b-day too! (please be watching Sarah's blog for the secret picture she took of the hot marine that stopped to help us until Cody got there and finished the job of fixing the tire). Anyway---we have a couple of traditions when we get together----we always take a self-portrait--thus the above picture--I was teasing Sarah and Karmen that they were looking like a couple in that picture. The next tradition is we go to the MAC make-up counter and get a make-over. Well, I was feeling a little under the weather while we were at the MAC counter so Karmen decided to give me a make-over while Sarah was getting her make-up professionaly done. Thus the pictures below.

Notice Sarah's make-up so purty!!!! (we had to take a picture so she'd know how to do it the next day!)

And here is my make-over by Karmen---the picture doesn't do my green sparkle eye-liner justice! Can you say HOOCHIE!

Of course this entry wouldn't be complete without showing some of my favorite purchases. A new purse, shoes, perfume, and jewelry! AAAAAHHHHH---I love best friends weekend! So pretty much it was a GREAT weekend. We were able to shop, watch movies, EAT and laugh. I'm pretty sure we'll be doing this for years to come---thank goodness for great husbands that let us get away!!

The Benefits of Cody

As most of you know, Jed and I have a new roommate......Cody!! So I thought I'd share a few benefits with all of you of having Cody living with us. First of all---you can all thank him for talking Jed into getting me a new camera for Christmas which will increase my blogging I'm sure. Next thing is Cody keeps me quite entertained as Jed is traveling a lot these days. He'll go rent movies for us to watch and I can now play guitar hero whenever I want! (I know you're jealous Uncle Carl). In the picture above you can see that Cody entertains our guests when they come over---Rylee doesn't come to see me anymore...she comes to see our horse Cody. The second picture is of the new ceiling fan he installed yesterday--isn't it purty! Jed keeps teasing him that he's going to keep coming up with projects for him to "earn his keep". I just realized this entry was sounding kind of cheesey so I'm outta here.

A Baadsgaard Christmas

So this Christmas was Baadsgaard Christmas....meaning we stayed here in Utah and hung out with Jed's family. It was some good times! The first picture is Christmas Eve--we cruised around the farm in Jed's dad's new toy. It's called a Rhino and I guess you could say it's just like a golf cart/4-wheeler on crack. It was pretty fun and Cody is convinced he would rather have one of those than a truck or car to drive around.

This is probably my favorite picture of Christmas day. Notice anything a little weird.....how about the fact that poor Carter is having to fight with 5 adults to get to play with his new race track!! I was considering going to Target today to get one for Jed and Chad. Below is a picture of Kylee with her new Dora tent---no boys allowed!!! Christmas night we went to the Clarks and had a grubbin meal---I can't believe I forgot to take pictures ---especially since I got a new camera for Christmas from Jed----he did tell me there was one stipulation with my new camera "No pictures of me for your dumb blog!" ------yeah right!

Creepy Angel

So we have a new addition to the Baadsgaard Christmas decorations. Yip, it's a creepy angel. Basically I had brought home 3 different angels for our tree and Jed didn't like any of them. (I asked him why he couldn't be like most husbands out there and just not care?!) I guess he had a vision of what our angel should be (actually he saw an angel on a K-Mart commercial and decided that was the angel for us.) So we raced to K-mart one night only to find that they were out of this precious angel so we literally had to speed across town to the other K-mart before they closed and wouldn't you know it (just my luck) they had it---the very one Jed had been dreaming of! So I decided I would compromise and let him get it. Little did I know that once we got it home and plugged it in that the wings were made of real feathers....they have fiber optic lights in them that turn a nice green...to red...to purple...to blue....to white!!! Oh but it gets better---they move up and down like she's flying!!! I wish I could get a picture of the fiber optics but the flash on the camera ruins it. So please feel free to come over to our house and enjoy our creepy angel yourself this holiday season!

Santa has Arrived...and so has Snomobiling Season!

So Jed thinks it's pretty funny to put obnoxious Christmas decorations up outside of our house just to bug me. The scary part is he hasn't even got to the reindeer and santa's sleigh on top of our roof with another santa that looks like he's fallen out of the sleigh and is hanging from the raingutter. He thinks it's funny.....I think it's white trash. Jen and Chris Cameron were kind enough to give us the inflatable Santa in the picture above last year (thanks jerks!). The next picture is of Jed this morning leaving for the first day of snowmobiling for the year......he was soooo excited! You might notice I had to secretly take the picture out of my window because first of all Jed hates getting his picture taken for the blog and secondly I had the flu so I wasn't dressed yet but I had a good chuckle to myself thinking what he would do if I had gone outside in my fuzzy blue robe, no make-up, scary hair and said in a fun mom voice "ok boys! Everyone scooch together so I can get you all in this fun picture!!"

Random Update

So here's a few random pictures from Thanksgiving weekend. I figured I wouldn't give all the details of Thanksgiving Day since you've probably already read about what I did on Thanksgiving on Carrie or Cody's blog. So here's a few of MY favorite pictures from the week. First of all my parents & Kami came to town which was super fun! Of course we all had to go to lunch with just the girls one day (ok, we actually did it several days but here's just one picture). The next picture is of my BFF Rylee. I got to babysit her one night and it was super fun--she thought putting olives on ALL of her fingers was about the coolest thing ever! See, I'm a fun babysitter like that---the Rylee gets to do whatever she wants --we usually play princess and paint our nails and play games or color. Needless to say Thanksgiving was pretty much a week long party at the Oram and Baadsgaard homes.

Roommate Reunion

Ok, fine----the picture above is not of our roommate reunion but it pretty much sums up my Ricks College Days...........the biggest excitement in my life was Wednesday night when 90210 came on!!!! (and the the first season did just come out on DVD so could someone please tell Jed that getting it for Christmas would be the highlight of my year!) Anyway....Natalie, Carrie and I -along with our husbands did have a little reunion on Friday night. Natalie and Ian were in town from Michigan so we got together for some good grub and good conversation....way fun! I was so bummed though because I had found my 90210 barbie dolls in my garage a few days before our reunion and I was planning on having the waitor bring them out on a silver platter for us for dinner as a joke and I totally forget them on my kitchen table back home!!! Wouldn't that have seriously been so funny!!! Oh well, maybe next time. Oh and just in case anyone is interested in trying out their 90210 knowledge I've included a link to a 90210 trivia game---enjoy!

While Jed Was Out

Above is the new and below is old

So as most of you know Jed has started traveling again for work. Well, this week he was gone for the entire week so needless to say I felt the need to keep myself busy. Soooooo I decided I would paint my bathroom! Now I'll be honest.....if Jed was home I'm not sure that he would have agreed with me on the paint choice but oh well, it's done now. I just need to find a few accessories to complete the project but at least you get the general idea.

Brocston has an owie on his Heart

My little nephew Brocston (Jed's sister Shay's little boy) had to have open heart surgery. He's doing great and we hope he has a speedy recovery. We went to visit him in Primary Childrens Hospital and even though he's doing great it was so sad to see all those wires and tubes hooked up to him. One cool thing though was that my friend Little Julie is a nurse on the floor he's on so she made sure that he was well taken care of.....she's a great friend and nurse like that. Hopefully Broc will get to come home soon.

Surprise--Sharon is Sixty!

It was pretty much one surprise after another for my mom this last weekend. It was her 60th Birthday so we all flew up to Seattle to surprise her. The first picture is when she turned around and saw Cody, Karena, Jed and I all just sitting on the couch. The next picture is when she walked downstairs for the big party we were having on Saturday night and was surprised by Uncle Paul, Uncle Phil, Uncle Carl and Aunt Pat. She had NO CLUE!!! I wish I would have got a picture of her being surprised by Kami and Ben and Friday afternoon and then Maile and Nate on Saturday. It was SO FUN! I love the picture of Jed and Cody having a fight with wet kitchen towels.... who do you think won??? And last but not least is my favorite picture. After a couple of days of partying we finally accomplished the impossible..........we wore Quinn out!!!!

Witches Night Out!!

Saturday night was "Witches Night Out" at Gardner Village. It was in sane! I couldn't believe how many witches were there. Basically it's a girls night out where you all dress up like witches and go shopping at Gardner Village. They have all these fun little events going on during the evening like dancing and cackling for coupons and other random stuff. Above is Tracy, Missy, Amy, Lani, Me, and Jen.

Here's a great shot of Missy, Jen and Tracy doing the boot scoot boogie!! Below is Me, Nikki, April May (I swear that's her real name---isn't it great!!) and Kimmy Sue--her real name is Kim but I just like to call her Kimmy Sue.

Murder Mystery

So this past weekend we went to a murder mystery dinner at Gardner Village with some friends. As many of you know Gardner Village is a super fun place that has all these cute little shops and they go all out for Halloween. I have to admit that the murder mystery was kind of a disappointment. The food wasn't that great and the acting was terrible---I told Jed I could act better than any of the actors that night and he said "yeah that's probably true because you are kind of a drama queen"----rude! As you can tell from the picture below Nikki was a little annoyed with the actress and Brendan and Jed just tried to avoid the actors whenever they came over to our table. Oh well, we still had fun.

I also had a fun day on Saturday shopping with Sarah all day---she came down to bring Katie to a dance competition. Then Sunday Jed and I went to dinner at my old mission companion Mindi Nordfelts for dinner and that was way fun---especially for Jed because he got to listen to all the old mission stories---hey, at least he got a good meal out of it because Mindi is an excellent cook!!!

2 Years!!!

So this past Saturday was our 2 year anniversary! I can't believe it's already been 2 years. I have to say it's been the best two years of my life so far! I lucked out marrying such a great guy. We had a fun day on Saturday. We started off the day by going to my old co-worker Mikey's baptism. Then we went to breakfast at Mimi's and it was gooood. We then headed off on a fun drive in the Ashley National Forest. At the top of the mountain we ran into quite a bit of mud and SNOW. You can see that the Jeep did us proud and managed the snow quite nicely--(as well as all the little side trails Jed just HAD to go on). We ended the day with a big ole Prime Rib dinner at Magelby's. Good times.

Fun Fall Family Pictures

So today we went up to Payson Canyon and had Cody take some Baadsgaard Family Pictures. Didn't he do an awesome job!!! I picked just a few of my favorites for you all to enjoy!!

Jed & I looking like we're going to a sadyhawkins dance in our matching outfits!!!

Carter, Kade, Kylee, Brocston, Cambry. I love this picture because it shows their true personalities but even better is the picture below.....

Now isn't this a precious picture of Lynn and Jeanne and their perfect little grandchildren--HA! HA! I love the death grip Lynn has on Carter and the look on Jeanne's face is priceless!

The whole Baadsgaard fam-damly. What a good-lookin bunch!
