It was pretty much one surprise after another for my mom this last weekend. It was her 60th Birthday so we all flew up to Seattle to surprise her. The first picture is when she turned around and saw Cody, Karena, Jed and I all just sitting on the couch. The next picture is when she walked downstairs for the big party we were having on Saturday night and was surprised by Uncle Paul, Uncle Phil, Uncle Carl and Aunt Pat. She had NO CLUE!!! I wish I would have got a picture of her being surprised by Kami and Ben and Friday afternoon and then Maile and Nate on Saturday. It was SO FUN! I love the picture of Jed and Cody having a fight with wet kitchen towels.... who do you think won??? And last but not least is my favorite picture. After a couple of days of partying we finally accomplished the impossible..........we wore Quinn out!!!!

Witches Night Out!!

Saturday night was "Witches Night Out" at Gardner Village. It was in sane! I couldn't believe how many witches were there. Basically it's a girls night out where you all dress up like witches and go shopping at Gardner Village. They have all these fun little events going on during the evening like dancing and cackling for coupons and other random stuff. Above is Tracy, Missy, Amy, Lani, Me, and Jen.
Here's a great shot of Missy, Jen and Tracy doing the boot scoot boogie!! Below is Me, Nikki, April May (I swear that's her real name---isn't it great!!) and Kimmy Sue--her real name is Kim but I just like to call her Kimmy Sue.

Murder Mystery

So this past weekend we went to a murder mystery dinner at Gardner Village with some friends. As many of you know Gardner Village is a super fun place that has all these cute little shops and they go all out for Halloween. I have to admit that the murder mystery was kind of a disappointment. The food wasn't that great and the acting was terrible---I told Jed I could act better than any of the actors that night and he said "yeah that's probably true because you are kind of a drama queen"----rude! As you can tell from the picture below Nikki was a little annoyed with the actress and Brendan and Jed just tried to avoid the actors whenever they came over to our table. Oh well, we still had fun.
I also had a fun day on Saturday shopping with Sarah all day---she came down to bring Katie to a dance competition. Then Sunday Jed and I went to dinner at my old mission companion Mindi Nordfelts for dinner and that was way fun---especially for Jed because he got to listen to all the old mission stories---hey, at least he got a good meal out of it because Mindi is an excellent cook!!!

2 Years!!!

So this past Saturday was our 2 year anniversary! I can't believe it's already been 2 years. I have to say it's been the best two years of my life so far! I lucked out marrying such a great guy. We had a fun day on Saturday. We started off the day by going to my old co-worker Mikey's baptism. Then we went to breakfast at Mimi's and it was gooood. We then headed off on a fun drive in the Ashley National Forest. At the top of the mountain we ran into quite a bit of mud and SNOW. You can see that the Jeep did us proud and managed the snow quite nicely--(as well as all the little side trails Jed just HAD to go on). We ended the day with a big ole Prime Rib dinner at Magelby's. Good times.

Jed & I looking like we're going to a sadyhawkins dance in our matching outfits!!!
Carter, Kade, Kylee, Brocston, Cambry. I love this picture because it shows their true personalities but even better is the picture below.....
Now isn't this a precious picture of Lynn and Jeanne and their perfect little grandchildren--HA! HA! I love the death grip Lynn has on Carter and the look on Jeanne's face is priceless!
The whole Baadsgaard fam-damly. What a good-lookin bunch!

Slow and Steady
Today was a SCARY day for me...we got our new hot tub a couple of days ago and so now we needed a way to get it onto our deck in back. So the only was to get it there was to have a crane lift it OVER the house and place it ever so GENTLY on the deck. Needless to say I was a basket case until it was done. Here's some pictures----sorry, they're kind of in reverse order.
The hot tub being ever so gently placed on the deck
The hot tub being lifted in the air by the crane--about to go over the house. (this would be the point I started biting my nails!!
Jed, Jason (Jed's best friend) and Lynn (Jed's dad) getting the straps ready to secure around the hot tub to prepare it to take flight!
You will be amazed to know it only took the crane guy about 5 minutes to lift it up over the house and onto the deck---what a pro!!!

Fall Colors

So this was yet another fun weekend with the Wheelers. Caleb and Sarah stopped in Provo on their way home from a buiness trip in Denver and spent the day with us. We went to dinner up in Heber at the Claimjumper and decided to drive up to Squaw Peak on our way to check out the fall colors. Of course the men had to be suckered into taking a few pictures for this blog worthy event!! As usual we had a blast hanging out with Sarah and Caleb and by the end of the night we all were sick from laughing so much. By the way---doesn't my husband look HOT in this picture!!

My Girlfriends Kitchen

So here's a fun new thing that my friends and I are trying......it's called "My Girlfriends Kitchen". Basically what you do is you go to this place and put together different meals that you can take home and put in your freezer and cook whenver you want to. All the food is already chopped and prepared for you and you just put it together. So tonight we made 6 meals including mexican lasagna, chicken and bisquits, pot roast and I can't remember the other ones. It only took us about an hour to make all of them. I would HIGHLY suggest it to all you out there who don't have a ton of time to cook. Plus---it was so fun!!! Oh yeah---and it's not that expensive either. You can check it out on www.mygirlfriendskitchen.com

BOYS and their TOYS!!

Most of you are aware that my husband has a hobby of selling and buying cars. I like to tease him that as soon as a car looses that new car smell he has to get rid of it. The fact of the matter is though that I can't complain cause he always seems to make money on the deals! In the two years we've been married he has had 5 different cars---and that's not including the junkers that he drives inbetween selling one vehicle and deciding what he'll get for his next vehicle. (Just go ahead and ask me about the 1992 Honda Accord that he made me drive for a month that had no 4th gear!) He even sold my car without me knowing!! I've learned that the term "every thing is for sale for the right price" is his motto. So here's the latest vehicle. I have to admit it has been so fun to have.

He even saved up his money to buy new tires and wheels. (don't anyone tell him I posted this picture without shining the wheels and tires before taking the picture----he would be mortified!)
Here's Cody driving the jeep to see how the new wheels are---whatever---he just wanted to drive it! Oh well, it was a good excuse to go with Jed, Cody and Missy to visit Shandy in the hospital---oh wait---she's still not there yet and it's 10pm----that's right--she's going in at 2am to be induced!!! Oh and one more thing......Jed wanted me to let you all know that if anyone wants a fun 2005 Jeep Rubicon---he happens to have one for sale!

So Long Seven Peaks

Rylee's ROCKSTAR pose!
Today was a tragic day.....it was our last day at Seven Peaks Water Park. This is where I've been pretty much every Saturday all summer long. No, I'm not 16 years old----I just love the sun ok! My friend Amy's little girl Rylee has been my faithful companion this summer. We said our good-bye's to Seven Peaks today by going down a few water slides, floating the lazy river and chillin in the wave pool. And just in case any of you are wondering...........no, Jed doesn't go with me, he prefers to get his tan by working on the farm.......how boring!

Rockin' Sunday!!!

Once a month my family gets together for Sunday dinner. This month it was at my house and we grubbed!!! Cody brought over his new PS2 game. I can't remember exactly what it's called but basically it's like karoke but with guitars---that's how Cody explained it anyway. So you have two players, two guitars (instead of controllers) and the notes that you have to play come up on the screen. At the end of the song it tells you who won and what percentage of the notes you hit. Needless to say it was quite the competition!! As you can tell by the look on Uncle Carl's face below you have to concentrate pretty hard & it can get a little nerve racking!!! My friend Missy and I kept on playing after everyone left and finally had to quit about 10pm because our hands were starting to cramp up. We'll be playing it again tonight for FHE if anyone wants to come over!!!

Garage Sale!!!!

Jed's sister Lesa asked us if she could have a garage sale at our house on Saturday----I said "sure---as long as I don't have to do any of the work but more importantly that I don't end up with more junk then I started with.......basically meaning that Jed was not allowed to keep anyting that Lesa brought over. I love my father-in-law but he has cursed all of his children with a terrible habit........being Pack RATS!!!!! For instance......when Jed's grandma died she had saved little bunches of yarn that was left over from her knitting----and yes, Lesa actually took it home!!!---dont' deny it Lesa---it's true! They even tried to divide up her old rusty cookie sheets and I'm all "chuck those suckers!!!" Anyway, I could go on and on about with more stories so I should probably stop now. The garage sale was a huge success. Lesa sold tons and tons of kids clothes.
I think Kylee was much more excited about the 10 sodas that she sold though. Every time someone would buy one she would come running to me and yelling at the top of her lungs "Aunt Malani (yes she says malani, not nalani) I sold another one!!!!!" As you can tell from the picture ..Chad was just as much into the garage sale as I was!

BENJI WON!!!!!

I am happy to report that Benji won!!! He's a cute little returned missionary that tried out for the show to get over the fact that his girlfriend sent him a wedding annoucement a week before he got home!! As the judge Nigel said after his first performance (which was my favorite dance of the whole show---it was a hip-hop dance with Donyelle) "she'll wish she could come back to you sunshine after seeing that performance!" The picture above is of Benji dancing with his cousin Heidi who got 4th place in the whole show! I have no idea what I'll do on Wednesday nights now that the show is over----------only a few more weeks until the Bachelor starts!!!!

Look who's 60!!!

Here's something kind of funny.....both my dad and my father-in-law turned 60 this week!!! Now that is OLD!!! We celebrated my dad's b-day a month ago when we were all home. We celebrated my father-in-law Lynn's birthday on Sunday. The best part of the whole party is when Grandma Baadsgaard re-lit the birthday candles 5 times so each grandkid could have a turn blowing them out----she's fun like that!
This is a pretty typical Sunday out at the Baadsgaard "farm" as we like to call it. Jed's mom makes grubbin food every week and we all sit around stuffing our faces and having fun. I swear she nevers makes the same thing twice either! Above is Marie, Chad (Jed's brother), Brady and Lesa (Jed's sister). Fun stuff.

Weekend With the Wheelers

So we had a super fun weekend with Sarah and Caleb and their kids last weekend. They came down Friday night and Saturday morning we got up bright and early (9:30am) and the girls headed off for shopping and 7 Peaks Water Park and the boys headed off to go 4-wheelin!!!!! Jed took the boys up a trail called Mona Pole which basically goes up to Mount Nebo. You can see the awesome view behind Caleb in one picture. The other picture is of Jack and Carter at the opening of an old nickel mine. They thought they were pretty brave to go into the CAVE. You should have seen the bath water after the two little boys took a bath----Sarah and I were totally gagging! That night we had a good ole bbq and played games. We had so much fun with the Wheelers and their kids that we're going to do it all over again the first of September at their house---and of course go to the Blackfoot Fair!!!!

Tim & Faith

Friday night I went to the Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Concert. It was seriously the best concert I've ever been to! (and I've been to a lot of concerts I must say!). The stage was awesome---they sounded awesome--dispite the fact that the sound system in the Delta Center sucks--and they just seem like a good down to earth couple. I guess they decided to tour together so they could take their 3 little girls with them. I have my concert best friends which include Missy, Jeanette & Amy but I told Jed the next time Faith and Tim come in concert he is going!!!! (and yes, he just kind of grunted when I said that---he's not such a concert buff--oh well).

So You Think You Can D-D-D-Dance?????
So my girfriends and I are a little obsessed with a show called "So You Think You Can Dance?" We watch it every week religiously and pretty much trash talk the entire time we watch it about how much we either love or hate the dances!---Secretly I think we're all jealous that we can't seem to shake our booties like they do on the show. The dancing really is amazing. There's one kid that's our favorite this year--Benji! He's a cute little mormon kid who gave up dancing for two years to go on a mission. The judges actually refer to that fact quite often--I personally think he's been a great example for our church.
Riz, Missy, Amy, Jen and Lani all calling in and voting for Benji!!! We are all so happy that Ivan and Natalie got kicked off last night! Next week is the big finale and YES---there will be another girls night for the big event!!!

Cannon Nathan Thomas

So here's the newest addition to the Oram Family. Cannon was born on July 14, 2006. Maile and the baby came to Seattle to party with us last weekend. Well, I should say we all partied while Maile recuperated. Cannon is a sweet little baby and EVERYONE fought over who got to hold him! Cody took this picture of Maile holding him. Isn't it so cute!!

Montana, I mean Seattle Here We Come!!!

Last week was a little stressful to say the least. I was put in charge of the Oram Family Reunion which was supposed to start on July 20th at the Grasshopper Inn in Polaris, Montana. My nieces Hayli and Chelsi and nephew Austin were here from Texas and going to be going with us to the reunion. Well, Sunday night before the reunion my Grandma Bell passed away (which was good because she's been sick for a long time). So plans changed and we headed to Seattle instead. I felt bad that the kids didn't get to go to the reunion but luckily we were able to spend a little more time with the nieces and nephews before we headed off to Seattle due to the air-conditioning going out in the truck so we left at 5:30pm rather than the 10am depature time we planned on!!!! (was that a run-on sentance or what!) As you can see from the picture the kids LOVE Uncle Jed!!!----which I'm not sure why because he tortues them non-stop and teases them like there's no tomorrow!!!!
This is one of my favorite pictures of the weekend. It was taken at the luncheon after the funeral. Even though it was a crappy reason to be brought together it really was SO FUN to see all the cousins and be together. Kim and Mike were here from Indiana which was the best because we only get to see them every couple years......it sure made me wish they lived closer or at least wish I was rich so I could go visit them whenever I wanted!!! You can't tell in the picture but Shandy is 8 1/2 months prego. She was such a trooper!!! You should have seen her cankles, I mean ankles after riding in a car for 15 hours----not pretty.
Another super fun part of the weekend was going to the Mariners game on Friday night. You can tell from the pictures that we had nosebleed seats---but who cares when you get to stare at the Seattle skyline! And yes, I got peanuts and Jed got Crackerjacks and we rooted for the home team till the bitter end----even if they did lose!!

Island Park Reunion

The 3 Amigos!!!
The 3 Amigos have multiplied and replenished to a total of 12 including spouses.
Pretty much anyone who knows me knows that I've had two best friends since Ricks College Days, Karmen & Sarah---(yes, Ricks College was 13 years ago! (I know, I know, I'm freakin old!!) Anyway, Karmen and Ty and her three kids flew in this weekend from Texas and Sarah and Caleb and their three kids came up from Blackfoot and we all headed to Gail & Todd's (Karmens mom) cabin for the weekend in Island Park. They have this incredible cabin right on Henry's Lake. It was seriously so fun. We went boating and 4-wheelin and roasted marshmallows and fed the fish and hunted for Jed's wedding ring (thanks to Karmen for finding it---she heard us tell the kids we'd pay them $20 if they found the ring and that was all the motivation she needed----and yes, Jed paid up---hey a $20 finder fee was a lot cheaper than buying a new ring!). Needless to say we all had a blast. Jed said to me the second day---"Oh my gosh you guys can all talk---I go to bed listening to Karmen talking and I wake up to Karmen talking!!!!" Thanks again to Gail for treating us like royalty---she really shouldn't have been so good to us because we're going to want to make this a tradition every summer!!!

Cody & Karena's New Pad

Guest Bedroom
Master Bedroom
Kitchen--obviously!
Laundry Room---I've heard that Cody is not allowed in this room seeing as the two times he's done laundry in the two years they've been married he's turned the whites a funky color.
The Living Room---a nice aerial shot.
Living Room Looking Up!!
So there you have it! There new house in Cedar Hills. Pretty fun huh! They've done an awesome job on it. I took more pictures but they didn't turn out---I guess y'all will just have to come see it for yourself!!!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

So here's a list of a few of my favorite things:
1. Jed
2. Family
3. Dr. Pepper
4. 4-wheelin
Lucky for me I got to experience ALL of these today!!! We rounded up some of Jed's family and Cody and headed to the mountains by Mona, UT. We took a trail all the way to the top where there is an old nickel mine. You can actually go into the mine a little way ---if you have a flashlight--which we didn't---which was fine by me because yes, I get a little scared. It was a super pretty drive. We stopped at the top and had a little picnic. It was about a 5 hour ride---just perfect!
