Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Something old......a sofa table I found at a garage sale on Saturday for $50!!! I was so excited--I'm actually thinking of painting it green or a mustard color.
Something new----Jed remodeled the hall bathroom upstairs. I think he did an awesome job! I just wish I could get better pictures of it.

Something borrowed.....I "borrowed" this picture from Carrie's blog. We went to dinner after my uncles wedding (which was quite the event---the wedding, that is). Cash was quite inthrawled with my Aunt Barb and her donald duck voice. He just kept staring at her thinking "this lady is cookoo and some day my mom will probably act just like her!"

Something blue.....Cash's shirt and eyes of course!

Mexican Fiesta!

Yesterday was our monthly cousins dinner at Cody and Meridiths house. The theme was mexican food which of course meant we had to have a pinata to be in the true spirit of the mexican theme! Even though the above picture happened last I had to post it first because it was my favorite! Take note of a few things.....first Cody holding the pinata on a broom handle--uhm, ok. Next Curtis using a mop as his "weapon". And my favorite thing is that Cody has his hand in the ready position just in case he needs to protect the "boys" if Curtis gets a little to crazy with that mop!!! Curtis had to break the pinata because the kids failed. Jeez---I wonder why......poor Parker below isn't even faced the right direction and poor Haylie couldn't even reach the pinata with her "weapon" of choice (which would be Bronson's oh so sturdy light sabar). Good times.

And of course what blog posting would be complete without a cute picture of Cash. He's trying so hard to crawl but it just ends up being a funky head scoot which makes me cackle quite loud!

Seattle...and 4th Anniversary!

So Jed's been gone for the past 3weeks on business --mostly in Seattle so Cash and I decided to go up and visit him last weekend. And of course to see Grandpa and Grandma Oram! When Cash saw Jed he got so excited and grabbed his face! I keep telling myself that Jed was just as excited to see me as he was Cash but I'm not really sure about that one. I thought this was a cute picture of the two of them on the couch. I was only there for a couple of days but I packed in the action but I sucked at taking pictures! Saturday my mom watched Cash so I could go to my favorite mall....Bellevue Square...oh how I love that mall! I did manage to take a few pictures of some of my favorite stores in that mall. Why, oh why can't Utah have these stores I ask????

So today is our 4th anniversary! Seeing as Jed informed me when I got to Seattle that he would be gone yet another week and missing our anniversary (I'm not bitter, really, I'm not). My mom took pitty on me and offered to watch Cash over night so I could go stay at the hotel with Jed. Thanks mom! Jed had been staying at the hotel all week because his business meetings were there so he was able to sweet talk the front desk girl into giving us a suite for the night. I had to take a couple of pictures because it was pretty pimp. They even brought us a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries! Don't worry....the bottle of wine didn't get opened! I can't believe we'ver been married 4 years already---by far the best 4 years of my life so far!!! I love you sweetie!
And of course one last picture of my little man in his Seahawks outfit! Cody bought this outfit for him when I was pregnant and had just found out I was having a boy so I've been waiting for months to put him in it! Isn't it so freakin cute!

Triplets!?!

So I'm shamelessly taking pictures from Carrie's blog again. Yesterday we got together at her house with our old roommate Natalie (better known as Natary Comanichi Novaskava). Anyway, we all had babies within six weeks of eachother and it's been so fun every time we get together! It's always so intense when we get together because both Cash and Cameron are competing for Tatem's attention! I always stress about what Cash should wear and try to make sure he smells nice when he's going to see his little lady. Above is a picture when they're all about 2-3 months old I think. Below is now at 6-7 months old.

Here's the great Natary making funny faces trying to get the kids to laugh.....she's not retarded....I promise, she's really not! ......ok, maybe a little. Of course we all had to try out putting all three kids on our laps at once to see what it would be like to have triplets. Doesn't Natalie just look like such a natural....she could totally handle triplets.....RIGHT!!!!! Anyway, we had a fun dinner and it's always great to get togethers with the old roomies.

Look!...I have two teeth!!

So I'm not afraid to admit that I stole these pictures off my cousin Carrie's blog. I couldn't resist! I've been trying to get pictures of Cash's new teeth with no luck so I had to steel these to prove it's true. Cash and Cameron are only 9 days apart and I think someday they'll be best friends.....that is if Cash quits picking on Cameron! When we put the two on the ground together Cash got all excited and started squealing and grabbing for Cameron.............Cameron on the other hand didn't share the same excitement to see Cash and would get freaked out and started crying! Someday, yes....someday they'll be best friends.

I love this picture.....I personally think Cash is staring at Cameron's hair thinking....."someday, maybe someday, I'll have great hair like Cameron.......or else that dude is going to get all the ladies!"

Honesty

Brace yourself....this is going to be a little more of a "serious" post from me. I've actually been meaning to post this story and picture for a long time now but had forgotten about it. This past Sunday the lesson we taught our primary class was on "telling the truth" and I shared this story with my little 8-year olds and it reminded myself to share this story on here because it's a good one! So the story goes like this.......about 2 years ago I got an e-mail from a guy named Brandon that had found me through my mission website. He saw that I was now married and that my last name was Baadsgaard so he e-mailed me and asked me if I happened to know a Jed Baadsgaard.....I of course e-mailed him back and said "Yes, I know him.....quite well in fact(wink, wink)....he's my husband!" so he writes back and said "can I please have your mailing address, I have something that belongs to him that I'd like to send it." So about a week later we get this trophy in the mail along with a letter. The letter was an apology letter to Jed from Brandon. He asked Jed if he remembered him and that they had been in the same 6th grade class....(Jed did remember him.) They had a reading contest that year and Brandon was ahead the entire time.....until the last day of the contest when Jed reported to the teacher that he had read several books over the weekend which now put Jed in the lead! When Brandon heard this he went to the teacher and told the teacher he had also read several books over the weekend-----actually more than Jed which put him in the lead and he won the contest! The only problem was that Brandon had lied....he hadn't read the books---but he couldn't handle loosing the contest. In the letter he apologized to Jed and asked for Jed's forgiveness. Can you believe he held onto this trophy ...and the guilt for over 20 years. I was so impressed that he would go to such measures to find Jed and send the trophy and letter. It's amazing to me how every single day we have the opportunity to be honest. Honesty has always been a big issue to me. I have to say that I think one of the absolute worst thing a person could say about me is that I'm dishonest ----that would upset me more than just about anything. There's nothing that bugs me more than a person who is dishonest.....not just flat out lying but even the little half-truths that people tell. I have to take a second and brag about a few of my co-workers. This week a guest in the hotel I work at had left her wedding ring in her room. She called and asked the front desk clerk if she could please go look for it. So Rachel went and looked for the ring and found it----and she about died because the ring had a center stone of 3 carrots and side stones that were about a carrot each. She called the guest back and let her know she found the ring.......when the guest came in to pick up the ring she gave Rachel a $100 bill for being honest and returning the ring to her (p.s. she happened to mention that the ring was worth $45,000). One more story and then I'll stop rambling. A couple of years ago while working in the hotel we had another guest who had left SEVERAL thousand dollars in cash in the drawer in the hotel room. The housekeeper who cleaned his room had found it and had turned it into her supervisor before the guest even realized it was missing! Once he discovered the cash was left behind he called the hotel will no hope of the cash still being there. He was so grateful and amazed he rewarded the housekeeper with several hundred dollars. So see.....honesty does pay!!!

Aloha!

So we just returned from Hawaii!! We had been planning to go for my sister Kami's baby blessing for a while now. Actually, this trip was kind to make up for not going to Hawaii for Christmas like we were suppose to---remember, how I was CRAZY when I was pregnant and wouldn't get on the airplane---yeah, that was fun times---not really. Anyway, we headed off the morning after Cody's wedding---we were even lucky enough to be on the same flight as the newlyweds. ---it wasn't awkward or anything, really, it wasn't! Actually it was kind of nice because Meridith missed her kids so she held Cash for a good portion of the flight!

So the first night we stayed in the JW Ihilani hotel and then we moved over to the Marriott Koa Olina Beach Club so we wouldn't have to risk running into the newlyweds! We made a deal that we would send them a text each day letting them know what we were all doing for the day (my parents were there too) and they could call us if they wanted to hang out---otherwise they could have their "privacy" to do what they wanted! (Funny side story---after the newlyweds went home my parents moved back over to the JW Ihilani because my mom likes that hotel better---well, what do you know---they checked them into the very same room that Cody and Meridith checked out of----SICK!!!!!! My very proper mom said "oh my---I hope they sanitized everything in this room!)

We did manage to meet up with the happy couple for breakfast a few times. Meridith was feeding Cash some fruit---please take note of his happy face while eating the pineapple---yum. And then came the big test.......how would he feel about watermelon??? ............well by his face below and the watermelon spit back out on the napkin you can see-----he hated it!!! YES!----being a fellow watermelon hater I was so proud of my boy for spitting it out!!!!

So here's the fam-damily on Kai's blessing day. I can honestly say I actually enjoy going to church in Hawaii. That sounds like I hate church----I don't but I just actually look forward to going in Hawaii. Kami belongs to a Hawaiian ward that is off base and it was just full of the nicest people you've ever met. I think our family was the only white family there. The spirit is just so strong in their meetings and I just love how pure of heart the Hawaiian people are. Their love for Christ is overwhelming as well as their faith just amazes me. I was telling my mom how lucky Kami is to get to have such neat experiences living different places and experiencing the culture. Here's a picture of their chapel---isn't it just peaceful.

Here's a couple pictures of my cute boys. Cash loves to lay on the lovesac. And below is a picture of my hot husband trying to act like he didn't know I was taking his picture!

Below is some cool overlook that my dad took us to. I can't remember the name of it but he sang us some song and told us some story about the king of hawaii pushing some people over the cliff and then he became king and the conquer of the Island. My dad served his mission in Hawaii so he knows all the history and songs. Quite entertaining actually. (I've got the dumb song going through my head right now as I'm typing this...."king kamahamah, the conquer of the island....")

Oh look at the cute couple....and look below....what a cute kid they made! I have to be "that mom" for just a minute and brag about my kid. He seriously would wear these sunglasses or hats all the time in Hawaii and not even touch them. People would seriously point and crack up all the time. He's such a little flirt too.

And one final picture to show you what we did the majority of our time---we hung out in the pool. Cash could play in this little floatie for hours!!!! We pretty much had the best time ever. I didn't get pictures of all the other things we did like the dinner cruise, the PCC, the Lua but oh well. I told Jed we had to have a good time in Hawaii together to make up for our last trip to Hawaii----it was when we were dating and we broke up the day we got home because we had such a terrible time.....but we won't go there! Aloha!

The Orams

I know I'm a little late in posting the big wedding but figured I'd add a few random pictures that were the highlight of the day for me! First of all I love the picture above where Haylie is leaning into Cody......she cracks me up! Maile spent an hour curling Haylies hair and I was cracking up because you could tell that Haylie pretty much thought it was her big day!!

The above picture is probably my favorite picture of the day!!! Please take notice of the socks. The sad part is that I'm the one that put that diaper on Maddie----it's the latest in baby thongs!!! Below is a nice picture of 4 adults trying to get Maddie's dress on her.

And as you can see from below........success!......Maddie is finally dressed! I also love the picture of Bronson looking so dapper. He was all dressed with his shirt tucked in and tie straight and tucked in until right before he went down the aisle and then he decided he didn't really like that "tidy" look!

Here's just a couple fun pictures of the wedding. Doesn't it look awesome! Maile was of course running around like crazy trying to help with last minute details. She makes me tired just watching her. By the way---the punch was seriously grubbin! Meridith got it from Kneaders and I'm not kidding when I say it was the best punch ever!!! (too bad we shattered one of the punch jars that night when we were cleaning up.....oops! Is it terrible to say I was more upset about the spilled punch then the broken jar).

Of course I have to finish this entry with a picture of the cutest baby in the world!!!! He was just chilling drinking his bottle. I was tempted to put some of the yummy punch in his bottle because I felt bad that he couldn't partake of it's goodness! And finally a picture that I stole off Cariann's blog of the happy little Baadsgaard family. Cash was especially happy chewing on Jed's tie for some reason! Congrats again to the happy couple! It was a fun day and we're all super happy that Cody found the girl of his dreams and a girl that his sisters finally approve of!!

Wedding + Family = 2 -week long party

So it's pretty much been an on-going party at the Baadsgaard household for the past two weeks. Cody gets married on Saturday so we had a little bachelorette/shower for Meridith at the Cheesecake Factory last night----any excuse to go to dinner with the girls!!! We all had a fun time and ate WAY too much! I'm so sorry I didn't get some pictures of Meridiths "presents" to post but then again I'm not sure they were big enough to get a picture of!

And now for a few pictures of Cash......I love the picture above because you can see Canon being all mischevious in the background. Below is a nice shot of Cash's first tooth.......what?..you can't see it????.....that's because the little stinker kept putting his tounge in the way!!! He's been quite the Mr. Crankypants with that tooth coming in. I couldn't resist posting the last picture of him asleep and his chubby cheeks! Have you ever heard that 2nd grade story/joke about the little boy named Chubby.....this picture reminds me of that. Cash has pretty much been spoiled by his Aunt Maile for the past week! Well, I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to post after the wedding on Saturday! It's sure been fun having our house full of family! Party on Wayne...Party on Garth!
